Two Great Beaverton Korean Restaurants, 1st Street Pocha and Coredam

1st Street Pocha slings Korean street food. We ate wowzy fresh corn kernels capped with molten mozzarella, deep-fried pork dumplings,
glass noodles encased in seaweed, battered, and deep fried, salt & pepper shrimp with peppers like cherry bombs,
udon noodles tinted red from capsicum with triangular tofu chunks. We had a Korean beer called Terra, roughly the equivalent of a Bud, good for dousing mouth-combustion. This restaurant doesn’t compromise, thank goodness. It’s for those who can take the full force of authenticity without flinching or fleeing.
As is common, the meal at Coredam Korean Restaurant in Beaverton started with a number of small plate appetizers.
Some of the food served is a bit out there, super spicy raw crab, raw squid, tripe. But these are good because they indicate that this restaurant is no-compromise. It’s as real as can be and the large number of customers indicate that there are those who appreciate this. We ate superb steamed dumplings (with housemade skins, so much better than premade),
Kalbi, grilled thin short-rib, bulgogi, thin-sliced pork and vegs, sweet potato noodles (so good!) with pork and vegetables.
